O Albert (Seth MacFarlane) είναι ένας κτηνοτρόφος που φροντίζει το κοπάδι των προβάτων του. Δειλός και μαζεμένος θα αποφασίζει να μην συμμετάσχει σε μια μονομαχία για λόγους τιμής, γεγονός που θα οδηγήσει την κοπέλα του (Amanda Seyfried) να τον χωρίσει. Η γνωριμία του με μια άλλη γυναίκα που καταφτάνει στην πόλη (Charlize Theron) θα τον βοηθήσει να αποκτήσει γενναιότητα και εμπιστοσύνη στον εαυτό του. Πλέον ο Albert είναι έτοιμος να διεκδικήσει την παλιά του αγάπη. Μόνο που πρώτα θα πρέπει να αντιμετωπίσει τον σύζυγό της γυναίκας που τον βοήθησε, ένα διαβόητο εγκληματία που την ακολούθησε στην πόλη ζητά εκδίκηση.
